At South Ayrshire Stalking, we have teamed up with a family run professional hunting operation, ‘Wild Horizon’, ( as featured in Sporting Rifle Magazine ) to offer a totally unique hunting or fishing experience in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. This is a truly breathtaking area of natural beauty, blessed with good weather and hunting many of the native species of African plains game. We have included a sample itinerary for you to peruse, however, one of the special features of this operation is a truly personalised itinerary, tell us what you want to do and we will be pleased to prepare a quote for you, we can cater for one to 10 people, but we stress this is your own trip, you will not combine with other hunters from elsewhere.
This is an affordable trip of a lifetime and as a guide the trip outlined below would cost hunters in the region of £2000, non hunters around £1000 and that is all inclusive, drinks, meals accommodation etc but excluding flights which are in the region of £850 per person.
Arrive East London airport to be met by Guy you host and then travel to Double Drift game reserve. Settle in to accommodation and have lunch. After lunch proceed on afternoon game drive hoping to find Rhino and Elephant and walking in the shadow of Giraffe. Sunset drinks looking over the Great Fish river glassing for Kudu and the elusive Bushbuck. That night we barbeque in the boma and listen to the night sounds.
Early coffee and then a morning game drive to return for brunch. After brunch we travel through the Fort Beaufort area to Tsolwana game reserve where we spend the afternoon and evening game viewing and looking for the Rhino families that roam this special area. Evening dinner at the lodge and possibly a night drive.
After breakfast we depart for our game farm in the foothills of the Maluti mountains. After lunch we do some range work to familiarize with the rifles and then some may go out on a late afternoon stalk. Evening drinks looking out over the Maluti mountains.
Days Four and Five
We spend hunting and stalking on the farm. Time to look at ancient bushman paintings stalk up on big herds of game and maybe even get in some flyfishing.
Depart for Lwandile on the Wild Coast travelling through rural African villages to our beautiful lodge on the coast. Settle in and watch the dolphins passing by as we have sundowners looking over the Indian ocean.
Day Seven – Nine
We spend time deep sea fishing, dolphin viewing and enjoying coastal activities (flyfishing in the estuary etc) and having seafood meals, swimming, snorkeling etc.
Farewell to the wild coast and travel back to East London in time to do a last minute shop before flying out to Johannesburg and London.
